Ministry of Education launches a rapid response plan and long-term strategy for the future of education in Syria

Damascus, SANA-The Ministry of Education has launched the Rapid Response Plan and the Strategic Path for the Future of Education in Syria, outlining a set of urgent measures for the current year and a long-term strategy for the coming years, in alignment with the ministry’s vision for the next phase.

The plan focuses on several key areas, including students and teachers, curricula, infrastructure, vocational education, digital transformation, administrative structure, research centers, private and virtual education, and the Supreme Council for Education.

In his remarks during the launch of the plan at an expanded meeting with central directors at the ministry’s headquarters in Damascus, Education Minister Dr. Mohammad Abdul Rahman Turko emphasized that the plan serves as the guiding framework for the ministry’s operations.

He also highlighted that the Supreme Council for Education, which includes provincial education directors and experts from the Ministry of Higher Education, is responsible for shaping educational and pedagogical policies

Minister Turko highlighted that, concerning students, the plan ensures continued access to education, psychosocial support, child protection, school reintegration, and reducing learning dropout. Additionally, it emphasizes a strategic pathway for knowledge and digital empowerment, personal and leadership development,media engagement, and global competitiveness

Regarding teachers, the Minister stated that the plan guarantees financial and moral support, emergency training, and professional development, as well as ensuring protection and job status. On a strategic level, the plan focuses on vocational qualification, academic accreditation, international openness, attracting global expertise, providing incentives and recognition, developing career paths.

In turn, the meeting participants offered their input and suggestions to refine and enhance the effectiveness of the plan.
