Deir Ezzor, May 12 (SANA) The Faculty of Education at Al-Furat University in Deir Ezzor held the Second International Scientific Conference on Educational and Psychological Sciences on Tuesday, under the theme “Empowerment Begins with Investing in What Is Possible,” with the participation of researchers from inside Syria and abroad.
The two-day conference addressed challenges facing education, proposals for developing curricula, the integration of digital technology and artificial intelligence in improving the learning environment, and the latest academic research in the field. Sessions focused on three main themes: the teacher, the learner, and mental health; curriculum development and quality assurance; and the educational environment in the digital age. A number of researchers participated remotely via video link, presenting and discussing their papers with attendees.
Dean of the Faculty of Education and Secretary-General of the conference Salman Wazo told SANA that 79 Syrian researchers are participating alongside counterparts from Arab countries and from Türkiye and Malaysia, expressing hope that the conference would produce recommendations that serve scientific research and contribute to rebuilding society — particularly given the pressing need for such academic initiatives during the current period.
Deputy President of Al-Furat University for Administrative and Student Affairs Mohammad al-Moussa al-Saleh said the conference was convened in response to the demands of the current moment and out of a conviction that reconstruction must begin with the human being, through the presentation of scientific research across multiple sessions.
Qahtan Abbas al-Zaidi, an assistant professor at the Faculty of Education at Kirkuk University in Iraq, highlighted the conference’s value in fostering the exchange of ideas and strengthening academic and fraternal ties between the two countries, describing such cooperation as an important driver of social responsibility and community development.
