Syria, India discuss educational cooperation and support for digital learning

Damascus, May 8 (SANA)    Minister of Education Mohammed Abdul Rahman Turko and India’s Chargé d’Affaires in Damascus, Renu Yadav, discussed ways to enhance bilateral cooperation in school rehabilitation, digital education, and the exchange of pedagogical expertise.

During the meeting held at the ministry headquarters, the two sides addressed the significant challenges facing the Syrian educational sector, including the shortage of school buildings and the logistical pressures caused by the return of large numbers of displaced students.

Minister Turko expressed Syria‘s interest in benefiting from India’s advanced experience in digital and technical education.

He noted that integrating these modern methods is essential for developing the educational process and keeping pace with global shifts in teaching technology.

For her part, Yadav affirmed India’s commitment to supporting Syria’s educational sector, particularly through the rehabilitation of damaged schools.

She also highlighted the importance of mutual cooperation in teacher training and English language instruction.

This meeting follows a recent discussion on May 4 between Minister Turko and the Pakistani Ambassador to Damascus, Mueen Afzal, which also focused on strengthening joint educational and training initiatives.
