Damascus, Jan. 20 (SANA) Syrian Education Minister Mohammad Abdulrahman Turko on Tuesday announced a series of urgent measures to address the current educational situation in Raqqa, Hasakah, and Deir Ezzor, underscoring the government’s determination to resume schooling in these provinces quickly and ensure its stability.
Speaking to SANA, Turko said the ministry has formed a central committee to assess school buildings, ensure safety, identify staffing needs, supply textbooks and materials, and set priorities for renovation and equipment.
The minister stressed the importance of full coordination with governors and other authorities to overcome obstacles and provide a suitable learning environment for students and teachers, noting that education is a national priority that cannot be delayed.
Turko added that the ministry will continue taking all necessary steps to safeguard students’ right to education and strengthen school system stability nationwide.
On Monday, maintenance and rehabilitation work began on ten schools in Aleppo’s Ashrafieh and Sheikh Maqsoud districts to improve learning conditions and ensure the safety of students and teachers. The initiative is part of a broader ministry program to restore schools damaged in areas recently liberated from the (SDF) .
