Homs receives 17,700 tons of wheat as strategic support for Syrian food security

Homs, SANA-Since the beginning of the marketing season, approximately 17,700 tons of wheat have been delivered to grain silos in Homs Governorate, according to Eng.Shaker Sanbali, Director of the Syrian Grain Establishment’s local branch.

He noted that Talkalakh silos received 7,961 tons, while the Homs silos took in 5,653 tons, and the Shinshar silos accepted 4,086 tons. He added that the reception process is progressing smoothly as part of the organization’s plan to secure sufficient storage capacity.

It is worth noting that the current price per ton of wheat stands at $450, underscoring the significance of these quantities in supporting national food security and bolstering the country’s strategic grain reserves.
