Ankara, Oct. 5 (SANA) Türkiye’s annual consumer inflation fell to 29.73% in September from 31.51% in August, official data showed Monday, dropping below 30% for the first time since November 2021.
According to data from the Turkish Statistical Institute, or TurkStat, carried by Anadolu Agency, consumer prices rose 1.84% month-on-month in September, while the domestic producer price index increased 2.07%.
Based on the 12-month average, consumer price inflation stood at 31.49%, while annual domestic producer price inflation reached 27.81%, the data showed.
Rent increase rate
The release of September’s inflation data also determined the rent increase rate applicable in October, at 31.49% for homes and workplaces.
The rate is based on the 12-month average change in consumer prices.
Türkiye’s annual inflation rate falling below 30% marks another step in a broader decline in price growth following elevated inflation rates in recent years.
Turkish authorities continue to monitor price developments as part of policies aimed at reducing inflation and strengthening economic stability.
Inflation, interest rates and the Turkish lira’s exchange rate remain among the key indicators closely watched in Turkish markets because of their impact on living costs, borrowing and investment.
