Syria establishes business councils with Jordan and UAE to boost economic cooperation

Damascus, June 30 (SANA) Syria’s Economy and Industry Minister Nidal al-Shaar has issued decisions establishing the Syrian-Jordanian and Syrian-UAE Business Councils as part of efforts to strengthen economic, investment and trade cooperation with the two countries.

According to the decisions, published by the Ministry of Economy and Industry on its Telegram channel, both councils will operate under the bylaws governing Syria’s joint business councils and in accordance with the charter and procedural guidelines issued by the Syrian Council for the Coordination of Joint Business Councils.

The decisions designate the two councils as the sole official bodies representing the Syrian side in relations with their Jordanian and Emirati counterparts under the procedures approved by the Ministry of Economy and Industry.

The Syrian Council for the Coordination of Joint Business Councils has been tasked with coordinating and organizing the work of both councils to ensure consistency with Syria’s national framework for joint business councils and its economic priorities.

The ministry said the establishment of the councils is part of broader efforts to strengthen cooperation with friendly and brotherly countries, expand economic and investment ties, develop trade relations and create wider partnership opportunities between Syrian businesses and their counterparts abroad.
