Washington, June.8 (SANA) Syrian Energy Minister Mohammad al-Bashir held talks with U.S. Secretary of Energy Chris Wright in Washington, during which the two sides discussed ways to expand bilateral cooperation in the energy sector, available investment opportunities in Syria, and prospects for increasing the participation of American companies in energy and infrastructure projects.
Secretary Wright affirmed his support for the Syrian government’s efforts to develop the energy sector and advance economic recovery, highlighting the importance of encouraging American companies to benefit from the promising investment opportunities available in the Syrian market and contribute to the implementation of strategic projects that support sustainable development.
Minister al-Bashir stated that a number of American companies have already begun operating in Syria, reflecting growing confidence in the investment climate and the opportunities available across various sectors, particularly energy.
He added that the Syrian government is working to provide the necessary incentives and facilities for investors while continuing to develop regulatory frameworks that help guarantee the success and sustainability of investment projects.
