Damascus, May 14 (SANA) The Damascus Chamber of Commerce held talks on Thursday with the Arab Union for International Exhibitions and Conferences (AUIEC), focusing on strengthening cooperation in exhibitions, training, and preparations for the participation of Syrian economic sides in the Plastics Industries Exhibition scheduled for next October.
During the meeting at the Chamber’s headquarters, Chamber board member Louay al-Ashqar discussed with AUIEC Secretary-General Mahmoud Al-Jarrah mechanisms to support Syrian companies’ participation in Arab exhibitions, provide facilities related to participation and shipment of goods, and expand cooperation in joint training programs and economic events.
Al-Ashqar stressed the importance of this cooperation in consolidating the presence of Syrian businessmen and industrialists at specialized exhibitions and opening new marketing and economic partnership opportunities.
For his part, al-Jarrah highlighted the importance of supporting the Syrian private sector’s participation in Arab economic events and specialized exhibitions, as well as enhancing trade cooperation among Arab countries.
The Arab Union for International Exhibitions and Conferences (AUIEC), established in 1995 in Cairo as an international non-profit Arab organization affiliated with the Council of Arab Economic Unity, works to represent and develop the exhibitions and conferences industry and to promote its role regionally and internationally.
