Damascus, April 25 (SANA) Representatives from the energy ministries of Syria, Jordan, and Lebanon held a virtual meeting to review the executive procedures required to activate the Arab Gas Pipeline and supply Lebanon with its energy needs.
In a statement on Friday, the Ministry of Energy said the technical meeting discussed the final timelines for launching the trial pumping phase of the project. Deputy Minister of Energy for Oil Affairs, Ghiath Diab, affirmed that the Syrian gas network is at its highest level of readiness following the completion of all necessary technical tests along the route extending from the Jordanian–Syrian border to the Lebanese border.
Diab highlighted the strategic importance of the project, describing it as a vital artery that strengthens economic integration among the participating countries. He affirmed Syria’s continued pivotal role as a safe and stable transit state for regional energy.
