Istanbul, April 9 (SANA) Syrian Minister of Economy and Industry Nidal al-Shaar met on Thursday with officials from Türkiye’s Presidency Investment and Finance Office to discuss ways to enhance economic cooperation and attract investment to the Syrian market.

The meeting was held in Istanbul and attended by Türkiye’s ambassador to Syria, Noah Yilmaz, and emphasized the importance of building strategic partnerships to revive the industrial sector and improve the business environment.

The Turkish side expressed interest in exploring investment opportunities in Syria, particularly in productive sectors.

Earlier this week, Syria and Türkiye signed an economic and trade cooperation agreement during the first meeting of the Syrian-Turkish Joint Economic and Trade Committee (JETCO) in Istanbul.

A Syrian economic delegation headed by al-Shaar arrived in Istanbul last Monday to participate in the committee’s inaugural meeting, aiming to strengthen bilateral economic cooperation.
