Damascus, March 31 (SANA) Head of the Planning and Statistics Authority Anas Salim met Italian Ambassador to Damascus Stefano Ravagnani to discuss ways to enhance bilateral cooperation and develop economic policies, the Authority said.
The talks focused on expanding cooperation across sectors and strengthening coordination between the two countries.

The Authority said Salim outlined recent economic and investment developments in Syria, highlighting its role in supporting government institutions through strategic planning and data provision.
For his part, Ravagnani expressed Italy’s interest in strengthening communication and information exchange, particularly to better understand Syria’s economic strategies, with a focus on the agricultural sector.
The Italian ambassador highlighted Syria’s economic importance and its role as a potential transit route, underscoring the need to deepen bilateral relations and expand cooperation.
Recent months have seen increased engagement between Syria and Italy across several sectors, opening the way for broader expertise exchange.
