President al-Sharaa: Syria seeks stronger economic ties with Germany

Damascus, March. 30 (SANA) President Ahmad al-Sharaa said on Monday that Syria is seeking to strengthen economic ties with Germany, following meetings with major German companies, highlighting renewed ties built on mutual trust and shared economic interests.

In a statement to Alikhbariah news channel on Monday, al-Sharaa said Syria is preparing to launch a new economic program alongside a large-scale reconstruction phase, stressing the importance of drawing on the expertise of the Syrian diaspora in Germany, estimated at about 1.3 million people.

He described Germany as a key partner, noting its position as one of the world’s leading industrial economies with advanced capabilities in agriculture, telecommunications, artificial intelligence and manufacturing, which Syria aims to leverage in rebuilding and modernizing its economy.
