Damascus, March 11 (SANA) Airline Fly Cham has resumed flights from Aleppo International Airport to Sharjah, Mersin and Istanbul to meet passenger demand amid regional disruptions.
In a statement received by SANA, the airline said scheduled flights from Aleppo to Sharjah and Mersin will begin on March 12, while flights to Istanbul’s Sabiha Gökçen Airport will start on March 13.
The airline said it is also providing free transportation between Damascus and Aleppo in both directions to help passengers reach Aleppo International Airport.
Fly Cham added that direct flights from Damascus International Airport will resume once airspace restrictions are lifted.
The company said the current Aleppo–Sharjah flights are exceptional services introduced due to emergency circumstances and are not a continuation of previously scheduled routes.
According to the airline, the flights follow longer routes to avoid tension zones, resulting in higher fuel consumption, increased insurance costs and additional operational requirements.
Fly Cham said ticket prices depend on operating conditions, noting that the newly launched routes to Mersin and Istanbul are offered at competitive rates.
The airline added that regional airspace closures and restrictions have disrupted aviation across the region, forcing the cancellation of previously scheduled flights.
