Damascus, Feb. 18 (SANA) Syria’s Investment Authority met with representatives of the Syrian-British Business Council on Tuesday to discuss expanding cooperation and organizing a future investment forum aimed at attracting international companies.
Talal Hilali, head of the Syrian Investment Authority, held talks with a delegation that included representatives of international firms and investors from various sectors, the Authority said in a statement.
The discussions focused on investment opportunities in energy, health, education, tourism, infrastructure and banking. Participants also addressed ways to improve the business environment and strengthen investor confidence through clearer regulatory procedures and incentive measures.
Both sides agreed to organize an investment forum bringing together Syrian and international companies to present available investment opportunities and facilitate direct engagement with relevant government institutions.
The meeting also emphasized the importance of aligning Syria’s banking system with international financial standards and modernizing local regulations to ease transactions and support investment flows.
The talks come as Syrian authorities seek to expand engagement with foreign business councils and encourage investment in key sectors of the economy.
