Damascus, Dec. 02 (SANA) Syria’s Central Bank Governor, Abdelkader Husrieh, will lead a Syrian delegation to Jordan on Wednesday for a high-level banking summit aimed at enhancing cooperation between the two countries’ financial institutions.
Governor Husrieh told SANA that the summit provides a key platform to discuss regional economic and banking developments, exchange regulatory and technical expertise, and explore opportunities for joint initiatives. Areas of focus include regulatory compliance, anti-money laundering, digital payments, financial innovation, and risk management, with the goal of facilitating cross-border banking and commercial activity.
He emphasized that cooperation with Jordan’s central bank offers wide-ranging prospects to strengthen Syria’s financial regulatory and supervisory framework and improve the efficiency of banking systems.
Governor of the Central Bank of Jordan, Adel Al-Sharkas, noted that the meetings would familiarize the Syrian delegation with Jordan’s banking and financial experience and open avenues for partnerships supporting Syria’s economic reconstruction.
