Syrian Deputy Minister of Social Affairs and Labor, Raghda Zidan, met on Monday with a Turkish delegation, including Dr. Güven Sak of TEPAV and Ahmet Şekeroğlu of TOBB-BIS, to discuss ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation in social and labor fields.
The talks focused on training and employment programs, the potential creation of a joint industrial city to generate new jobs and reduce unemployment, and leveraging Turkish expertise to develop Syria’s labor market and workforce skills.
The meeting follows previous discussions between Syrian and Turkish officials, including an October 16 meeting of Syrian Minister Hind Qubawat with her Turkish counterpart on the sidelines of the 6th Islamic Conference of Labor Ministers, covering labor cooperation and the return of Syrian refugees.
