CASP-MID chief hails aviation security at Damascus Airport

CASP-MID chief hails aviation security at Damascus Airport

DAMASCUS, SANA — Mohammad Saad Al-Fawzan, head of the Cooperative Aviation Security Programme Middle East (CASP-MID), praised security and safety measures at Damascus International Airport during an official visit.

Al-Fawzan, was briefed on the airport’s aviation security systems, as well as the capabilities of the Syrian Airlines Training and Qualification Center.

Speaking to SANA, he highlighted the airport’s “notable level” of security preparedness, the professionalism of staff across operational sectors, and the efforts made to align with global aviation safety protocols.

Al-Fawzan also lauded the Syrian Civil Aviation Authority for its ongoing efforts to enhance personnel competence and maintain international standards, ensuring safe and secure travel for all passengers.

CASP-MID is an ICAO initiative focused on strengthening aviation security across the Middle East through coordination, capacity building, and training among member states.
