Communications Ministry Signs agreement with Jordanian Aqaba Digital Hub

Amman, SANA-The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology signed Monday a memorandum of understanding with the Jordanian Aqaba Digital Hub (ADH) to develop Syria’s digital infrastructure.

In the presence of Communications Minister Abdul Salam Haykal, the Director General of Syrian Telecommunications Establishment Jamal Al-Din Khatib signed the memorandum, with Mohannad Habaq, Chairman of the “NaiTel” Company, affiliated with Aqaba Digital Hub.

Khatib explained that the memorandum represents a “strategic step towards strengthening the optical connection between Damascus and Amman”, contributing to the development of digital transport services and opening new prospect for partnership in the telecommunications sector.

He stressed this cooperation will directly benefit the two brotherly peoples and support the two countries’ efforts to keep up with global developments in communications and technology’s field

Meanwhile, Aqaba Digital Hub Chairman of the Board of Directors Iyad Abu Kharmah expressed “his pride in the deep historical and geographical ties” between the Syrian and Jordanian peoples, considering them a solid foundation for expanding areas of joint cooperation.
