20,000 tons of phosphate begin to be loaded for export via Tartous port

Tartous, SANA- Loading of a new ship carrying Syrian phosphate for export began Wednesday at Tartous port.

Mazen Alloush, director of public relations at the General Authority for Land and Sea Ports, said that the ship’s cargo capacity amounts to 20,000 tons, adding to the total quantities exported since the beginning of this year, which amounted to approximately 308,000 tons.

Alloush pointed out that the export of phosphate comes within the framework of supporting the national economy, as it is the most prominent internal wealth that Syria possesses, and constitutes an important source of revenue and enhancing the export balance.
