Syria Exports 230,000 Tons of Phosphate

Tartous, SANA – New shipping operations from Tartous port to foreign countries commenced on Wednesday, indicating the recovery of Syrian ports as strategic export outlets, where 230 thousand tons of phosphate were exported.

The port began loading two ships carrying huge quantities of Syrian phosphate, the first weighing 44 thousand tons, and the second weighing 33 thousand tons, on their way to Romania and Egypt, as part of a regular export plan that reflects the recovery of the mineral wealth sector.

Total phosphate exports since the fall of the former regime have reached approximately 230,000 tons, reflecting the recovery of vital facilities and enhancing their contribution to the national economy and the country’s trade balance.
