Tartous, April 10 (SANA) The Syrian Theatre in Tartous hosted a new social stage production titled “Out of Line” on Thursday evening, marking the debut theatrical work of actor and director Mohammad Bassam Ali.
The play explores a range of youth and social issues, aiming to positively engage adolescents and young audiences. It is also Ali’s first production specifically directed at children and teenagers.
Speaking to SANA, Ali said the play carries a message that widely held social ideas are not always accurate, stressing that others may share similar thoughts and perspectives. He added that parts of the performance evolved into moments of open expression, where the use of whistles symbolized the voice of freedom, noting that questioning information is not wrong but a path toward discovering the truth.

Reem Abdul Hadi, representing the Eastern Mediterranean Syrian Foundation, which sponsored the production, said the play presents its themes in a simple and accessible manner while promoting positive values. She highlighted its focus on strengthening social cohesion and encouraging audiences to avoid misinformation and misleading narratives.
The performance drew a strong audience turnout and forms part of a broader series of cultural activities taking place across Tartous province.
