Homs, March 28 (SANA) Ghiras Alkhaeer, a Syrian humanitarian organization, has organized a recreational event for 300 orphaned children in Homs province on Saturday, as part of ongoing efforts to support those affected by the war.
The event, held at an amusement park in the al-Wa’er neighborhood, gave children the chance to participate in a variety of recreational activities and group games.
Muhammad al-Atr, director of the organization, told SANA that the initiative targeted children from al-Qusayr and its surrounding countryside, areas that have faced significant humanitarian challenges.
He explained that such activities are designed to help alleviate the psychological impact of conflict on children, offering them moments of relief and normalcy.
Al-Atr added that the event is part of the “Basma” project, which addresses the psychological needs of orphans through recreational and educational programs that promote social integration and a sense of safety and stability.
The “Basma” project supports orphans and their families across Syria and is funded by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia through the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief).
