Jakarta, SANA – Syrian Minister of Culture Mohammed Yassin Al-Saleh held bilateral meetings on Saturday with his Palestinian, Libyan, and Indonesian counterparts, on the sideline of the “Chandi 2025” Summit held on the Indonesian island of Bali.
During his meeting with Palestinian Minister of Culture Imad Hamdan, Minister Al-Saleh discussed ways to document shared heritage and activate drama production as a human bridge that documents the Syrian and Palestinian exodus, their uniqueness and intersections, in addition to organizing specialized training programs and reciprocal cultural performances.
With the Libyan minister of Culture and Knowledge Development Mabrouka Toghi, minister al-Saleh discussed opportunities for cultural cooperation. They emphasized the importance of culture in strengthening ties and supporting efforts to achieve social cohesion and sustainable development. Minister Toghi highlighted the special nature of the relationship between Syria and Libya and the need to continue cooperation.
Minister Al-Saleh also discussed with Indonesian Minister of Culture Fadli Zon prospects for cultural partnership between, emphasizing the growing role of culture as a pillar of sustainable development and the protection of tangible and intangible heritage.
Minister Al-Saleh praised Indonesia’s experience in preserving cultural, religious, and linguistic pluralism as an inspiring model, while his Indonesian counterpart emphasized that Syrian civilization represents a cultural and human reference that reflects peoples’ ability to innovate and overcome challenges.
