Cabinet approves bill on establishing courts for insurance and maritime affairs lawsuits

Damascus, SANA – The Cabinet approved a bill on establishing civil courts for insurance lawsuits in provinces, and a bill on establishing first instance and appeals courts for lawsuits related to maritime issues.

During its weekly session on Tuesday chaired by Prime Minister Imad Khamis, the Cabinet also approved a bill allowing citizens to apply and submit paperwork for competitions organized by state establishments at their own provinces rather than a specific province.

The Cabinet also reviewed the state of the Syrian insurance market and the authorities supervising it, and decided to set up a new mechanism for investments made by local councils and city councils.

The Cabinet decided that all ministries must reevaluate the work of joint committees with the countries of the world, and tasked the Agriculture and Interior Ministries to investigate forest fires and uncover the sides responsible for them.
