Health Minister, Chinese Ambassador discuss health cooperation

Damascus, SANA – Health Minister Nizar Yazigi discussed on Monday with China’s Ambassador in Damascus Wang Kejian means to activate the health cooperation relations between the two countries to help meet the needs of the health institutions in Syria.

Minister Yazigi pointed out that the health sector is working under exceptional circumstances due to the war waged on the country, hailing China’s supportive stance towards the Syrian people.

In turn, the Ambassador said his country is interested in enhancing relations with Syria in all fields, affirming that China supports the Syrian people and seeks to alleviate their suffering.

In another context, a workshop for training journalists in preparing health-related reports started earlier today, organized by the Health Ministry in cooperation with the World Health Organization (WHO).

Last April, the Ministry was handed 10 ambulances from the WHO to boost the emergency system in the provinces.
