Damascus, SANA – The Cabinet discussed in its weekly session on Tuesday a number of services and economic issues, including means to promote and support loans for startup businesses, particularly for small and medium projects.
The Cabinet also took the necessary steps to issue a bill on establishing a scientific agency for distinction and creativity, which aims at finding creative individuals and support them.
Chairing the session, Prime Minister Wael al-Halaqi stressed the need to spread the culture of business loans in order to invest in available funds and revitalize production and national economy, instructing the Industry and Agriculture Ministries to prepare a map for medium and small projects, in addition to instructing public sector banks to launch campaigns to encourage people to deposit funds in SYP.
Al-Halaqi also called for monitoring the goods available in markets and follow up on the matter of food and consumer products of unknown origin.
The Cabinet reviewed the decisions made by the Central Bank of Syria and other committees and agencies to improve the SYP exchange rate and limit smuggling.
