Russia: Baghdad Information Center aims primarily at pin-pointing ISIS potential goals

Moscow, SANA – Russia, Iran, Iraq and Syria are sharing equal rights and responsibilities in the work of the Baghdad information center coordinating the fight against Islamic State militants, Russia’s official representative at the center said Friday.

“All four sides — Russia, Iran, Iraq and Syria — have equal rights in this information center,” Lt. Gen. Sergei Kuralenko said in an interview with Rossiya-24 television. He added that that the responsibilities of the sides will be established by a special charter to be adopted soon.

He highlighted that the main goal of the center will be gathering, processing and analyzing current information about the situation in the Middle East – primarily for fighting the ISIS, adding that information in question will be distributed to the abovementioned countries posthaste.
