Syrian Jiu-Jitsu team ranks first in West Asia Competitions

Beirut, SANA – The Syrian female Jiu-Jitsu team won the gold medal of the West Asia Championship held in Beirut.

The team swept 14 medals, leaving behind the Lebanese team in the second place and Iraq in third.

The male team obtained the third place after winning 7 medals. The overall ranking put Syria at first place.

The Jiu-Jitsu is a Japanese martial art and a method of close combat for defeating an armed and armored opponent in which one uses no weapon or only a short weapon.
