Syria, South Africa discuss cooperation in construction sector

Damascus, SANA – Minister of Public Works Hussein Arnous discussed on Wednesday with a delegation of economists and representatives of companies from South Africa means of bolstering cooperation between the two countries in the construction sector.

Minister Arnous briefed the delegation members on the ministry’s work, saying that the it needs to acquire over 10,000 vehicles in the next few years, and is in urgent need for 650 vehicles.

Arnous also expressed appreciation for the stances of South Africa regarding Syria, hoping there will be more solid cooperation between the two countries in the future.

In turn, Ambassador of South Africa in Syria Shaun Byneveldt expressed his country’s readiness to participate in the reconstruction efforts in Syria, adding that South Africa is resolved to boost the bilateral relations, especially since there are two agreements for economic and political cooperation between the two countries.
