At least 17,000 children unaccompanied or separated from their families in Gaza

Geneva, SANA- UNICEF said that at least 17,000 children in Gaza Strip are unaccompanied or separated from their families as a result to relentless Israeli aggression on the strip.

Chief of Communication at UNICEF in the occupied Palestine territories Jonathan Crick said that “Children’s mental health is severely impacted. They present symptoms like extremely high levels of persistent anxiety, loss of appetite, they can’t sleep, they have emotional outbursts or panic every time they hear the bombings.”

He added that “Before this war, UNICEF was considering that more than 500,000 children were already in need of Mental Health and Psychosocial support in the Gaza Strip. Today, we estimate that almost all children are in need of MHPSS, more than 1 million children.”

Palestinian Health Ministry announced today that the number of victims of the ongoing Israeli aggression on Gaza for the 119 day in a row has risen to 271,131 martyrs and 66287 wounded, mostly women and children.
