Mikdad: We have strong and close relations with Algeria

Algiers, SANA – Foreign and Expatriates Minister, Fayssal Mikdad said that Syria and Algeria have strong and close relations, stressing that the Algerian leadership has been always standing by Syria.

Consultations with Algeria have never been interrupted, Mikdad said in statement to the journalists upon his Arrival to the Algerian capital on Saturday, and highlighted the need to strengthen and develop bilateral relations between Syrian and Algeria.

Mikdad stressed that his visit to Algeria is an expression of the sincere feelings of the Syrian leadership towards Algeria.

He pointed out that there is a sincere vision of the leaderships of the two countries to develop areas of bilateral cooperation.

Mikdad thanked Algeria for supporting Syria in dealing with the repercussions of the earthquake disaster.

Mikdad said that “The general role played by Algeria at all levels cannot be described. We are fighting on behalf of all the world against terrorism, “and emphasized the need to work together between the Syrian and Algerian sides to face the current challenges.

The Foreign and Expatriates Minister began an official visit to Algiers to hold talks with the Algerian leadership on enhancing bilateral relations between the two brotherly countries and means to develop them, in addition to discussing the latest developments on the Arab and international arenas and coordinating stances between the two countries.
