Hama, SANA- Rehabilitation works of Imam Ismail Mosque in Salamyieh City, in Hama eastern countryside started, as parts of the Mosque were damaged due to the earthquake struck the country last February.
The rehabilitation works, which were carried out by Salamyieh Antiquities Department, included parts, like the minaret, the ceiling, and the surroundings of the dome.
Head of Salamyieh Antiquities Department, Rania al-Khatib told SANA reporter that the destructive earthquake, which struck several Syrian cities caused the collapse of parts of the ceiling of the archeological Mosque, about 6 meters of its minarets, which reaches 55 meters long, in addition to cracks in its walls and dome.
A number of archeological paintings were also inspected, in parallel with the rehabilitation of the mosque, with the aim of rehabilitating the damaged paintings, according to Salamyieh Antiquities.
