Homs, SANA- Olive production in Homs central province has witnessed a notable increase for 2022 season which is estimated at 35 thousand tons compared to the production of 2021.
The increase in olive production in the province came as a result of favorable weather conditions, according to Director of Agriculture Department in Homs, Eng. Younes Hamdan who noted that the olive oil production for the year 2022 exceeded 13.5 thousand tons of oil, while the production of in 2021 was estimated at 7,128 tons.
Regarding the mechanisms of marketing the produced oil, determining its prices, and the extent of its conformity with the standard specifications, Director of Internal Trade in Homs, Rami al-Youssef, said samples were taken from the oil in the markets to ascertain their conformity with standards and specifications.
