Damascus, SANA-President Bashar al-Assad on Sunday congratulated Christian denominations that follow the Eastern calendar on the occasion of glorious Easter, wishing them and all Syrians health, welfare, and peace.
Minister of Presidential Affairs, Mansour Azzam, conveyed congratulations of President al-Assad to Patriarch John X Yazji, Patriarch of Antioch and All the East for Greek Orthodox Church and to Patriarch Mar Ignatius Ephrem II, Patriarch of Antioch and All the East, the supreme head of the Syriac Orthodox Church in the world and to all citizens of these two honorable denominations.
For their part, Heads of the two honorable denominations expressed their great gratitude for President Assad’s congratulations on their holidays, hoping God would preserve Syria and rescue it from terrorism and the Corona epidemic and peace to prevail all over the country. Christian denominations in Syria, which follow the Eastern calendar, celebrated today the glorious Easter holiday.
