Minister of Information: Syria was in heart and conscience of al-Moallem who remained loyal soldier fighting for it

Damascus, SANA- Information Minister Imad Sarah affirmed that by the passing of the Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign and Expatriates Minister, Walid al-Moallem, Syria lost a prominent national figure who bears it in his conscience, mind and heart and who remained a loyal soldier fighting diplomatically for it till the last breath.

Minister Sarah, in a phone call with the Syrian TV Channel, said “al-Moallem was a school of diplomacy and a school of politics with a high ability to deal with the most difficult situations, in addition to that, he was gentle in morals, knowledgeable, quick-witted … and whenever we met him on the sidelines of the cabinet sessions and we have always talked about his national stances, whether in Montreux in Switzerland, or after every press conference … We asked him where did he get this distinguished ability in dealing with the most difficult situations, and his answer was always that he would remain a loyal soldier who will fight for Syria till the last breath.”

Minister Sarah added: “Everyone remembers when al-Moallem has participated recently in the International Conference on the Return of Syrian Refugees despite his pains and illness and, which confirms that Syria was in his conscience, mind and heart; Therefore, we say may mercy be upon him and may God inspire his family and the Syrian people patience and solace.”
