Health Ministry: Nine new coronavirus cases registered in Quneitra province

Damascus, SANA- Health Ministry announced that 9 coronavirus cases were registered for people who have been in contact with an infected seventy-year-old woman who died yesterday, as the total of the registered cases in Syria raised to 187.

In a statement, Health Ministry said that after the death of a seventy-year-old woman who was infected with the coronavirus, the surveillance and investigation teams followed up and contacted people who have been in contact with the women in Quneitra province, and took swabs form them as nine cases were detected and all of them have been quarantined at Qatana Hospital.

On Wednesday, Health Ministry announced the death of a seventy-year-old woman who was rushed to al- Mouwasat Hospital as she was suffering from respiratory problems, and she was admitted to the intensive care unit (ICU).

The woman was also suffering from heart and pressure diseases, in addition to diabetes and kidney problems, according to the statement.

In its statement, the Ministry indicated that the total of the registered cases in Syria has reached 187 till today, of which78 have recovered and 7 cases have passed away.

The Ministry called on citizens to adhere to precautionary measures and not to neglect them in order to preserve their health and the public safety.

The first coronavirus case was registered in Syria on March 22nd for a person who came from abroad while the first death was registered on the 29th of the same month.
