People’s Assembly commemorates 44th anniversary of the Correctionist Movement

Damascus, SANA- The Peoples’ Assembly during its session held Sunday and chaired by Speaker Mohammad Jihad al-Laham commemorated the 44th anniversary of the Correctionist Movement that was led by the late President Hafez al-Assad.

The Speaker said that the reactionary forces have attempted on many occasions to stop and destroy all aspects of life in Syria, indicating that “colonial powers and takfiri terrorists now seek to strike the values of the Correctionist Movement and its political, economic and social achievements.”

He added that the Syrian army and people are, once again, foiling attempts to undermine the Movement’s values by confronting “the biggest terrorist war fought against Syria.”

The Speaker concluded by saying that “the Syrians will come out of the war victorious as they did in every war they fought before.”

Al-Laham pointed out that Syria will remain committed to the Arab rights, particularly the Palestinian cause, adding that Syria “will not allow the promoters of extremist and takfiri mentality to undermine our thought.”
