Damascus, SANA – Syria and Democratic Korea discussed means to expand cooperation in the transport field and activate the agreements signed between both sides.
During a meeting with the Democratic Korean Ambassador in Damascus Zhang Meung Hu on Tuesday, Minister of Transport Ghazwan Kheir Bek highlighted the importance of cooperation in setting up railway infrastructure and locomotives through benefiting from Democratic Korea’s expertise in this regard.
The Minister referred in this context to a particular project of connecting the capital Damascus and its suburbs with a rail network.
He also underscored the need of activating the agreements signed with the Democratic Korean side in air and sea transport, including an agreement between Lattakia Port and the Korean Nampo Port, noting that work in underway to start cooperation between the latter and Tartous Port.
For his part, the Democratic Korean Ambassador stressed his country’s readiness to provide all forms of support to Syria, including in the railway field.
