Damascus Countryside, SANA – Hundreds of families returned to their homes in Harran al-Awamid town in Damascus countryside after 5 years of forced displacement by terrorist groups and their brutal acts.
The families expressed their happiness over returning home which won’t be possible without the great sacrifices made by heroes of the Syrian Arab army for the sake of the homeland in defense of its national unity.
Head of Harran al-Awamid Municipality, Ammar Askar, stated that around 500 families who have fled the town 5 years ago returned, underlining the Municipality’s efforts to meet inhabitants’ basic requirements, provide water and electricity, remove debris, open roads and rehabilitate infrastructure like schools, health centers and other governmental institutions.
Last April, General Command of the Army and Armed Forces announced the Eastern Ghouta fully liberated after the evacuation of all terrorists from Douma city, their last bastion in the area.
