Syria and Crimea sign cooperation agreement and letter of intent for cooperation between businessmen

Yalta/Crimea, SANA – Syria and the Republic of Crimea signed on Saturday a cooperation agreement and a letter of intent on cooperation between Syrian and Russian businessmen.

The agreement was signed during the activities of the 4th Yalta International Economic Forum (YIEF 2018) by Head of the Republic of Crimea Sergey Aksyonov and Lattakia Governor Ibrahim al-Salem, while the letter of intent was signed by head of the Syrian-Russian Business Council Sameer Hassan and co-chairman of the Delovaya Rossiya organization Andrey Nazarov.

In a statement at the Forum, Aksyonov stressed the importance of Russian-Syrian cooperation in all fields, especially in the reconstruction of Syria, voicing support for Syria and understanding for the conditions of the Syrian people and their suffering due to terrorism.

For his part, Economy and Foreign Trade Minister Samer al-Khalil said that Syria has started the reconstruction process after the victories against terrorism achieved with Russia’s help, adding that Syria now has a suitable environment for encouraging and protecting investments and investment opportunities with guaranteed returns and feasibility in the fields of sustainable development, textiles, technology, pharmaceuticals, motor parts, and more.
