Al-Moallem discusses developments and relations with Omani senior officials

Muscat, SANA-Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign and Expatriates Minister Walid al-Moallem discussed on Tuesday with Asa’ad bin Tariq Al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for International Relations and Cooperation Affairs and Special Representative of Sultan Qaboos bin Said of Oman the bilateral advanced relations and the importance of continuing close communication between the two brotherly countries.

During the meeting, Al-Moallem conveyed the greetings of President Bashar al-Assad to the Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said, Sultan of Oman, and appreciation of the Syrian leadership and people for the wise positions of the leadership and people of the Sultanate of Oman, which contribute to maintaining the stability of the region and for its support to Syria in the face of the terrorist war waged against it.

In turn, Al Said congratulated Syria, which represents a bright and ancient face of history, culture and civilization, for the victories achieved in the face of terrorism. He also conveyed the greetings and appreciation of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said to President al-Assad.

Al Said affirmed that Syria has right and the right always wins, stressing Oman’s keenness on the unity, sovereignty and stability of Syria.

During a session of official talks at the Omani Foreign Ministry, al-Moallem also discussed with Omani Minister for Foreign Affairs Yusuf bin Alawi the various aspects of the bilateral relations between the two brotherly countries as viewpoints were identical on the importance of boosting relations in all domains.

The two sides also exchanged views on a number of regional and international issues of mutual concern.

In the framework of his visit to Oman on Monday, al-Moallem met the Syrian Arab community in Muscat as he gave a presentation on the latest developments in Syria, affirming the determination of the Syrian people and the armed forces, under the leadership of President al-Assad, to eradicate terrorism all over the Syrian territory and to preserve the unity of its lands, people and its independent national decision.

The Syrian future is an exclusive option for the Syrian people and no one is allowed to intervene in its internal affairs, al-Moallem said, calling on the Syrian expatriates to contribute to the reconstruction of what was destroyed by the terrorist war on Syria, adding that “Syria welcomes all efforts exerted by its loyal sons for its stability and prosperity.”

For their part, members of the Syrian community in Oman expressed their solidarity with their country and their willingness to exert all possible efforts to maintain its stability in the face of the terrorist conspiracy the country is encountering.
