Prague, SANA – Ivan Korcok, State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic, said that the only lasting solution to the crisis in Syria is a political solution achieved by Syrians themselves.
The Slovak News Agency said that during the recent meeting of the Foreign Affairs Council of the European Union, Korcok voiced support for the political solution in Syria and for the talks in Geneva under the UN auspices as the only legitimate platform in the search for a broadly accepted and sustainable solution to the crisis.
He also said that the Turkish aggression on Afrin makes finding a political solution even more difficult.
