Damascus, SANA- Prime Minister Imad Khamis affirmed that the government provides medicines and treatment for all the children with cancer for free.
Khamis paid a visit to the Blood Diseases and Tumors section at Children’s Hospital in Damascus on the occasion of the International Childhood Cancer Day.
During the visit, Khamis inspected the children’s cases as he was informed by the patients’ families about the services offered by the hospital and the obstacles facing them.
Khamis called on the hospital staff to provide the best medical services and treatments for children with cancer, saying that the unilateral coercive economic measures imposed on Syria did not hinder the Syrian medical sector from offering all services and needs for patients.
Director of the hospital stated that 97% of the cancer medicines are provided to the patients for free.
The world observes International Cancer Day on February 4th each year and the International Childhood Cancer day on Feb.15th.
