Moscow, SANA – Syrian-Russian talks were held in Moscow on Monday to discuss bolstering cooperation in the fields of oil, gas, and mineral resources.
Cooperation with the Russian companies operating in the fields of oil, gas and mineral resources in the past period has been positive and fruitful as a result of the Syrian government’s efforts to increase and expand cooperation with Russia in these fields, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Ali Ghanem said at the start of talks held on Monday in Moscow with representatives of Russian companies.
He highlighted the importance of holding periodic bilateral meetings to follow up on the implementation of the cooperation agreements reached by the Syrian-Russian joint governmental committee for economic and technical cooperation in Sochi and Damascus.
For their part, the representatives of the Russian companies stressed their intention to continue cooperation with the Syrian side via projects that form a road map in the field of energy, including geology, extraction, exploration, rehabilitation, and development of oil and gas fields and phosphate mines, in addition to the refining sector and organizing educational programs and joint scientific studies.
