Raqqa, SANA- The technical workshops of the General Establishment of the Euphrates Dam managed to open one of the main gates to drain the water towards al-Assad Lake.
Sources of the Establishment told SANA that the Euphrates dam became safe after the technical workshops managed to enter the dam facility and open one of its main gates and drain the water towards al-Assad Lake.
The sources added that the administration of the dam is waiting until the completion of clearing the dam and its surroundings of mines and explosive devices to be able to detect it and assess the damage that caused to it due to the military operations and the bombing of the US-led international coalition.
Euphrates Dam witnessed significant damage due to the bombing of the US-led coalition which targeted the Syrian infrastructure, destroying several bridges on the Euphrates River and committing many massacres against Syrian civilians in the countryside of Deir Ezzor, Hasaka, Raqqa and Aleppo.
