Damascus, SANA – Presidential Political and Media Advisor Bouthaina Shaaban affirmed that having Russian role back in the region is normal and in the interest of all the peoples of the region as it serves the Palestinian cause and the security and safety of Syria and all Arab countries.
Shaaban, who is the head of the board of trustees of al-Quds Foundation/Syria/, made these remarks at a press statement following a lecture under the title of “The Russian role in the Palestinian cause and the future of the region” as part of al-Quds Cultural Day event, which is held periodically on the last Wednesday of every month.
Shaaban expressed her optimism about the current trend of moving towards a more balanced, secure and peaceful world.
She added that Russia, throughout history, has treated countries with equality and respect, and its relations with all countries differ from those of the US and Western states.
The Presidential Advisor reaffirmed the important role of Russia in the establishing of security and stability and the fight against terrorism, noting that Russian President Vladimir Putin was the first to call for a real international coalition against terrorism, noting that the US administration today is more open to this proposal from the former administration.
