Sunday weather forecast: Rainfalls in most areas, snow expected over the mountains

Damascus, SANA- The temperatures will remain from 5 to 7 degrees below average as the country is affected by a weak low air pressure in all layers of the atmosphere accompanied by a cold and wet air mass.

The Meteorology Department expected in its Sunday bulletin that the weather will be cloudy and rainy in most areas and sleet will fall over the inland areas while snow will fall over the mountains whose height is over 1,000 meters.

At night, the weather will be cold and frost and fog are expected in most areas while the wind will be westerly to northwesterly with a low to moderate speed and the sea waves will be medium in height.

Tomorrow, the skies will be clear to partly cloudy in general and the temperatures will slightly rise, yet they will remain from 4 to 6 degrees below average.

Over the past 24 hours, different amounts of rainfalls were registered in a number of the Syrian provinces as follows: in Damascus Countryside 17 mm of which 10 mm of snow, Sweida 6 mm, Daraa 6mm, Quneitra 17 mm, Homs 13 mm, Hama 25 mm and in Tartous 5mm.

The expected temperatures in some of the major Syrian cities will be as follows: Damascus 4/2, Daraa 7/1, Homs 3/0, Lattakia 11/6, Aleppo 7/-1 and Deir Ezzor 7/0 .
