Electoral silence for presidential candidates to start on Tuesday at 07:00 a.m.

Damascus, SANA- The Higher Judicial Committee for Elections has set Tuesday 07:00 a.m. to start the electoral silence and to stop the electoral propaganda for candidates for the post of President of the Republic.

In a statement, the Committee noted that under the provisions of Article 58 of the General Elections Law for the year 2014, and its executive instructions, the electoral propaganda shall be stopped 24 hours before the date set for the elections, which will take place on the twenty-sixth of this month, and accordingly, stopping the electoral propaganda starts on Tuesday at 07:00 a.m.

On May 10th, the Higher Judicial Committee issued its final decision on the list of the presidential candidates who are Abdullah Salloum Abdullah, Bashar Hafez al-Assad and Mahmoud Ahmad Mar’ai, and it set the date of the electoral propaganda for the candidates from May 16th to 24th.
