Funeral of late director Hatem Ali escorted to his final resting place in Damascus

Damascus, SANA-The body of the late director Hatem Ali was buried on Friday at his final resting place in the Bab al-Saghir cemetery in Damascus, in the presence of a crowd of friends of the deceased, including artists, actors and citizens who like his works.

The body of actor and director Ali arrived yesterday evening at Damascus International Airport from Egypt, after his death last Tuesday, following a sudden heart attack at the age of 58.

The deceased was born in the village of Faiq in the occupied Syrian Golan in 1962, and he displaced from it with his family to Damascus due to the Israeli occupation in 1967.

He studied acting at the Higher Institute of Dramatic Arts, Acting Department, and graduated in 1986 to start his creative career full of dozens of dramatic, theatrical and cinematic works as an actor and screenwriter, most notably as a director for a number of the most important Syrian and Arab series, in their diversity between contemporary social, historical and nomadic, as well as directing four cinematic films.
